Granite window sills are one of the most durable and most frequently chosen materials for exterior and interior window sills. They are made of natural Strzegom granite in grey or grey-rust shades.
Key properties of granite window sills
- Hardness and abrasion resistance → extremely high (LA ≈ 20–35), practically scratch-resistant and wear-resistant
- Frost resistance → full (F1–F2), does not crack or flake even at -30°C and with exposure to salt
- Water absorption → very low (<0.5–1%) → does not absorb water, does not stain easily (after impregnation almost zero stains)
- Weather resistance → UV, acid rain, high/low temperatures, moisture – color remains stable for decades
- Surface finish → most often polished (smooth, glossy)
- Aesthetics → raw elegance, natural speckles and granite structure, universal colors (grey, graphite, rust, black, beige)
