Key properties of Strzegom granite paving cube
- Rock type — igneous granite (mainly quartz + potassium feldspar + plagioclase + biotite/mica)
- Colors —
- light grey / grey (most popular, the so-called “classic Strzegom” – grey with black and white speckles)
- grey-rust / rust (warm brown-rust tones)
- red / burgundy (rarer, intense red with hematite inclusions)
- black (very dark, almost basalt-like)
- Finish — most often rough split (uneven, rough surface – anti-slip) or cut / cut-split (more even edges), less often cut-flamed (anti-slip with matte finish)
- Hardness and abrasion resistance — very high (Los Angeles index LA ≈ 20–35, abrasion < 0.5–1 mm after 1000 cycles)
- Frost resistance — full (F1–F2), excellent in the Polish climate – does not crack or flake even with road salt
- Water absorption — very low (<0.5–1%, WA24) → does not absorb water, does not stain easily, does not grow moss
- Weather resistance — extreme: no fading, discoloration, or degradation from UV / frost / acid rain / salt
- Mechanical strength — high compressive strength (approx. 150–250 MPa) and crushing resistance → ideal for vehicle traffic (driveways, parking areas, access roads)
- Aesthetics — natural, classic, universal; grey version matches everything, rust/red adds warmth and character
- Natural, without dyes, ecological, chemically neutral
